How Do I Know If I'm Pregnant?

Most people take a pregnancy test at home using their urine. However, you can also take a pregnancy test at here at the Pregnancy Care Center at BETA or your provider's office using a blood sample or urine. For the most accurate results, wait until you miss your period to take a home pregnancy test. If you use pregnancy tests correctly, the results are 99% accurate.  Use the first morning urine catch when the HCG is at its strongest concentration and follow the directions in/on the packaging.  Waiting too long can give you a false reading.

These may be some of the symptoms that you are having:

  • Missed period
  • Tender or swollen breasts,
  • nausea and/or vomiting
  • Increase in urination
  • Fatigue

Once you have a positive reading on a test, call the center and we can retest you and schedule an ultrasound. Due to safety of the developing baby, it is not recommended to knowingly preform an ultrasound prior to six (6) weeks after conception.
